Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary

is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on animal welfare and youth-centered programming.

We are dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and savins horses, donkeys, and goats from kill pens. We provide these animals with comprehensive care and temporary homes with caregivers while we work to find them loving families.

As part of our Beautiful Together mission, we are creating programs for children living in foster care, residential homes, and at-risk situations. Since our inception in 2014, we have repeatedly witnessed the incredible therapeutic connection that children make with animals. And research backs up what many pet owners already know:

Children connect with animals for comfort, reassurance, and emotional support - especially when experiencing fear, loneliness, sadness or stress.

In 2020, we announced a new initiative that powerfully connects these meaningful efforts: The Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary, a safe and nurturing environment for animals in need of refuge. In addition to rescuing animals, our youth programming will allow for children to connect with the animals, help care for them, and spend time in "pet therapy" sessions: bottle feeding kittens socializing puppies, brushing horses - and so much more.

We have purchased 83 acres of completely undeveloped land in Chapel Hill, and we are beginning to build a sanctuary that will house this entire mission.

To connect the vulnerable and the voiceless in purposeful ways that benefit us all.
